We are a surgical specialty–only veterinary hospital seeking an experienced Overnight Veterinary Technician with a passion for critical patient care, anesthesia recovery, and intensive post-operative monitoring.

What You’ll Do
- Provide advanced overnight nursing care for hospitalized surgical and post-operative patients, including high-acuity and critical cases
- Closely monitor anesthesia recoveries, pain management, and physiologic parameters throughout the night
- Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters, central lines, arterial lines, and urinary catheters
- Manage fluid therapy, infusions, oxygen delivery systems, and advanced monitoring equipment
- Recognize subtle changes in patient status and intervene appropriately, escalating concerns as needed
- Perform in-house laboratory diagnostics and assess trends to support patient management
- Obtain diagnostic imaging as indicated
- Maintain thorough, accurate electronic medical records and detailed overnight treatment notes
- Communicate effectively with surgeons and daytime teams to ensure seamless continuity of care

What a Typical Night Looks Like
- Receiving detailed handoffs from the day team and surgeons
- Caring for a small, manageable caseload of 1–5 hospitalized surgical patients
- Performing thorough overnight assessments and continuous monitoring
- Managing fluid therapy, infusions, oxygen supplementation, and nutritional support
- Anticipating patient needs and proactively adjusting care within established protocols
- Responding calmly and confidently to changes in patient status
- Running overnight laboratory diagnostics and reviewing trends
- Maintaining a quiet, organized, healing recovery environment
- Documenting detailed treatment notes and preparing clear updates for the morning team
Compensation & Benefits
- Salaried position: $50,000–$65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and credentials
This position is salaried to support consistency, autonomy, and high-quality patient care—not volume.
