We offer a collaborative approach toveterinarymedicine. We support Emergency andCritical Care, Neurology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology and Radiology, all in one hospital. Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle islooking for a Veterinary Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcarecommunity.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • With each hospital function,assistveterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity andmaintainpositive patient flow.
  • Assistwith surgeries and proceduresin accordance withyour state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance onThrive Membershipoptions, medications, andadditionaltreatments.
  • Assistinmaintainingrelevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients andmaintainmedical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements

  • Previous veterinary assistant experience required
  • Desire to offer superior patient care
  • Positive work attitude
  • Proficient in blood draws, taking histories, basic vital skills and knowledge
  • Preferred-specialty surgery experience

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with anhourly pay rate starting at$23 - $28 /hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
