Veterinary Specialists of the Rockies is seeking an experienced and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our Emergency Department team in Castle Rock, Colorado. As an Emergency Veterinary Assistant, you’ll support veterinarians and technicians in providing high-quality care to urgent and critical patients while helping clients through stressful situations with compassion and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Assist with emergency exams, triage, and treatments
- Safely restrain and handle patients
- Support patient stabilization and monitoring
- Collect diagnostic samples and assist with radiographs and lab work
- Communicate with clients and provide discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Help keep treatment areas organized and efficient
We offer full-time and part-time opportunities with flexible scheduling across swing and overnight shifts.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- At least 3 year of veterinary assistant experience in a clinical setting (specialty experience preferred but not required)
Proficiency in:
- Client communication
- Blood draws
- IVC placement
- Animal restraint
- Outpatient care
