Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant to support our outpatient specialty services. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on procedures, efficiency, and patient care without overnight hospitalization responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with outpatient procedures and treatments
- Safely restrain patients for exams, diagnostics, and procedures
- Prepare patients for same-day surgeries and procedures (CT, endoscopy, etc.)
- Support anesthesia and recovery for outpatient cases
- Turn over treatment and procedure areas efficiently between cases
- Maintain strict cleaning and sterilization protocols
- Discharge patients and review at-home care instructions with clients
- Accurately document patient care in medical records
- Provide excellent, compassionate client communication
Qualifications:
- Previous veterinary experience required (specialty or surgical experience preferred)
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a high-volume, fast-paced setting
- Strong attention to detail and efficiency
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift 40 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
