Veterinary Services is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team!

We are a privately owned, small-animal veterinary practice that values teamwork, excellent patient care, and creating a positive environment for both our clients and our staff. What You'll Do

Our Veterinary Assistants help keep the clinic running smoothly and provide hands-on care to our patients. Responsibilities may include:

• Rooming and obtaining patient histories and weights
• Assisting veterinarians with appointments and treatments
• Performing technician appointments such as vaccines, nail trims, ear cleaning/plucking, and routine injections as trained
• Assisting with blood draws, sample collection, catheter placement, and laboratory testing based on experience and training
• Preparing and cleaning examination and treatment areas
• Filling medications and preparing prescriptions for veterinarian approval
• Entering charges and assisting with patient checkout
• Restraining and handling dogs and cats safely and compassionately
• Assisting with radiographs and other diagnostic procedures
• Cleaning, stocking, and maintaining treatment areas
• Monitoring hospitalized patients and assisting with their care
• Assisting with surgical preparation, recovery, and anesthesia monitoring based on experience
• Communicating professionally and compassionately with clients
• Helping wherever needed to keep the clinic moving efficiently

Experience

Previous veterinary experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider candidates with a strong work ethic and a genuine desire to learn.

We recognize that veterinary assistants have different levels of experience. Training and opportunities for advancement will be available for motivated team members who want to develop their technical skills.

Veterinary Assistant Level 1: Primarily focuses on patient care, rooming, technician appointments, cleaning/stocking, medications, and assisting doctors.

Veterinary Assistant Level 2: For experienced team members with advanced skills such as blood draws, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory work, hospitalized patient care, and triage assistance.
