Position Summary: Perform essential production duties in a compounding pharmacy, which includes operating powder machine(s) and related computer system, operation of tablet and capsule grinding equipment, and other large batch compounding functions in a non-sterile environment. This position also includes prepping medications for compounding purposes, assisting the pharmacists in day-to-day operations and shipping/receiving of finished products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. · Performs essential production operations (See above)
- Follows all relevant safety protocols and practices
- Follows all uniform, PPE, and hygiene policies as they apply to non-sterile compounding
- Ensures correct weights & measurements for finished product
- Packaging and shipping of finished product
- Completes all relevant documentation following strict quality assurance programs
- Performs daily cleaning of facilities and equipment
- Completes necessary licensure, training, and continuing education requirements

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Language Ability:
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Ability:
Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Reasoning Ability:
Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates and Licenses:
Will need to become a licensed pharmacy technician through the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
