As a Relief Veterinarian with VMR, you will provide essential veterinary care services to clinics, shelters, hospitals, and various events requiring medical expertise. **Responsibilities:**
- Conduct thorough examinations and evaluations of animals to diagnose health conditions.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for various animal species based on diagnoses.
- Perform surgical procedures as needed and provide post-operative care.
- Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments following established protocols.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and assistants to ensure efficient patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all treated animals.
- Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and attend relevant continuing education programs.
**Qualifications:**
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state veterinary license in good standing.
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices.
- Experience in dog training, veterinary critical care, animal care, and pet handling.
- Proficiency in equine medicine is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with both animals and pet owners.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
