The Veterinary Heart Institute is looking for a bilingual Spanish/English Veterinary Assistant/Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will not only provide hands-on care to patients but will also collaborate closely with veterinarians to ensure we deliver the best possible care to our patients. Your contribution will directly impact the success of our practice and the well-being of our furry friends.
As a key member of our team, you will support the medical staff in a range of tasks from assisting with medical procedures to managing patient care. This role requires someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to providing the highest standards of care. You will assist in restraining animals during medical exams, perform critical procedures such as blood pressure checks and electrocardiograms (ECGs), and gather important patient histories. Additionally, you’ll manage communications between clients and veterinarians, ensuring that every patient’s journey through our clinic is smooth and positive. You will also handle a variety of administrative tasks, from managing clinic messages to updating patient records, all while keeping the practice running efficiently.

For experienced candidates, we are looking for individuals with a strong background in veterinary practice. If you hold certifications such as Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), that's a plus, but not required. What’s more important is your passion for medicine, willingness to learn how we work, interest in learning cardiology and your ability to maintain professionalism under pressure. Your experience should also include strong communication skills, an eye for detail, and the physical ability to safely assist in animal restraint.
For entry-level candidates, we understand that experience may be limited, but we’re looking for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within veterinary cardiology. If you’re motivated, reliable, and ready to be part of a collaborative team, we want to hear from you.
Candidates should be adaptable, flexible in their work habits, and have the ability to thrive both independently and within a team. This position may require working extra hours, and as such, a commitment to teamwork and an excellent work ethic is essential to success.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and while certification in veterinary technology is preferred, it is not mandatory. Familiarity with office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Drive is important, as is the ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with clients and colleagues alike.
