What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Veterinary Care Center?
Veterinary Care Center is a small, bustling companion animal hospital in West Columbia, SC and we are looking to grow our team! We are committed to providing quality, compassionate care to our patients and ongoing education to our clients in a relaxed, personable environment.
Our technicians are the heartbeat of our clinic. Typical technical duties include animal restraint, client communication and education, obtaining blood samples and IV catheter placement, operation and maintenance of anesthesia machines, monitoring patients under anesthesia, performing dental cleanings, taking (digital) radiographs, performing routine lab diagnostics, and keeping the clinic clean. Strong candidates will also be effective communicators, great team players, always willing to learn, attentive to detail, and punctual.
The clinic is open Monday thru Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM, and every other Saturday 8:00AM - 12:00PM. Typical technician schedules include a set weekday off and a rotating Saturday schedule.
Pay is commensurate on experience and performance. In addition to hourly pay, team members also receive quarterly bonuses and deeply discounted vet care for personal pets. Other perks include 12 days PTO and 3 paid personal days per year, a yearly uniform and Continuing Education stipend, and a flexible schedule. Tuition reimbursement for Veterinary Technician Certification and licensure are also provided.
