What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Veterinarian position at Veterinary Care Center?
Veterinary Care Center – Chesterfield, MO
Modern Medicine. Surgical Skill. Strong Team. No Corporate Strings.
- Where your patients matter — and so do you.
This is not your average vet clinic job.
If you're a veterinarian who’s tired of being a number, tired of the grind, or just tired of not being heard - this might be the opportunity that changes everything.
Veterinary Care Center (VCC) is an independently owned small animal hospital in Chesterfield, MO with a reputation for exceptional medicine, forward-thinking technology, and a team culture that fosters connection, trust, and longevity. We invest in modern tools, like digital radiology, ultrasound, and cold laser, to help you practice at your best, but we know it’s the people who truly make a practice. That’s why we invest just as much in building a skilled, supported, and empowered team.
We’re looking for a full-time or part-time associate to join us, and on day one, you’ll walk into an established client base, supported by a team that’s been with us for years.
Why VCC?
Because we’ve built a practice that puts our people first.
- No Sundays. No on-call. No overnights. A schedule built around your life.
- Your time matters. You’ll actually have it here.
- 100% employer-paid health insurance.
- We invest in your health like you invest in our patients'.
- Surgery-forward, mentorship-rich.
- Love surgery? So do we. Learning surgery? We’ll train you. We don’t gatekeep skills.
- Zero corporate BS.
- We’re family-owned, which means decisions are made in-house, with you, not in a boardroom.
- You’ll never feel alone.
- Our doctor team has over 50 years of combined experience, and we actually help each other. Collaboration isn’t a buzzword here - it’s just how we do things.
· Owner who gets it.
As a practicing veterinarian with a young family, our owner knows the value of flexibility and of feeling supported. You’ll find a mentor who’s right there on the floor with you, not watching from an office, and a leader who’s always got your back.
The Work You’ll Do
This is a general practice role with a strong surgical focus, but how you shape your caseload and how you practice is entirely up to you. Whether your passion lies in wellness care, internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry, or surgery, you’ll find the support and flexibility to pursue it here.
We see a wide variety of cases and perform soft tissue, dental, and select orthopedic procedures. You’ll have the autonomy to practice high-quality medicine your way, backed by modern tools and a team that knows how to make it all run smoothly.
Our clients trust us, follow our recommendations, and are willing and able to pursue gold-standard care. You’ll have the opportunity to build long-term relationships with families who truly value your expertise - the kind of client base that makes practicing medicine deeply rewarding.
Whether you're an experienced surgeon or a motivated new grad, you’ll be supported by a collaborative doctor team, an exceptionally skilled support staff, and everything you need to thrive.
