About Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at VVSD:
The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at VVSD provides high-quality mental healthcare services accessible to all post-9/11 (including National Guard and Reserves), their families, and the families of active-duty service members including spouse or partner, children, parents, siblings, caregivers, and others.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure that the program maintains compliance with the funding agreement established with CalVet.
• Monitor the fiscal operations of the grant (i.e., budgeting, accounts receivables and payables, reconciliations, financial reporting, etc.) in collaboration with VVSD finance leadership to ensure monthly expenses are accurate.
• Collaborate with the managed care billing coordinator, managing local relationships with 3rd party insurance, and ensuring that services provided are in compliance with contractual and reimbursement policies
• Maintain and monitor all financial records to ensure accuracy, completeness of data and compliance with state and federal rules and regulations
• Establish and monitor policies and procedures regarding grant operations, risk management and business continuity California Department of Veterans Affairs CVHI Notice of Funding Availability.
• Ensure policies and procedures are aligned with current grant and any applicable accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with staff around tracking financials, trends, and reporting, etc.
• Produce and submit necessary reports in timely manner.
• Develop strategies and implement plan to support and secure funding for grant sustainment and grant writing process.
• Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated progress toward a bachelor’s from accredited college or university with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- At least 5 years of experience working with 3rd-party payers, coding, billing, posting, and adjudication of claims
- At least 3 years of experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting financial data
- Demonstrated knowledge about the appropriate and effective use of protected health information, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act.
- Excellent customer service.
- Must been able to work independently or as part of a team, anticipate problems and generate solutions and demonstrate flexibility and sensitivity when engaging with staff and clients.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to digest and distill complex subjects into clear messages
The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic offers a variety of services to post 9/11 Veterans, Active-Duty Service Members, Reservists, National Guard and their family members. The CVHI position helps serve these clients by working with administration at CVN Clinics as well as finance at VVSD to ensure financial and administrative compliance with the CVHI grant, HIPPA, CARF and other agencies. This position also gathers data and participates in Continuous Quality Improvement meetings, as well as grant reports and other duties as assigned.
