About the Role
Veterans Medical Transport is hiring reliable EMT-Basics and Advanced EMTs/Intermediates to support interfacility transports for Kaiser Permanente patients. This position is focused on scheduled and urgent transfers between hospitals and clinics — it does not involve 911 response. You’ll work in a professional, team-driven environment where patient care comes first.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate an ambulance safely while transporting patients to and from medical facilities
- Perform initial assessments and observe patients during transport
- Provide appropriate interventions within your scope of practice (BLS or advanced level)
- Partner with Paramedics on high-acuity or critical care calls
- Complete thorough documentation in the ePCR system
- Ensure vehicles, medical gear, and supplies are clean, stocked, and ready for inspection
- Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, facilities, and fellow crew members
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Active Georgia EMT certification (EMT-R, EMT-B, or EMT-A/I)
- Valid CPR certification
- Current driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Ability to safely lift and move patients as needed
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and problem-solving skills
