Work Status Details: REGULAR FULL TIME | 80.00 Hours Every Two Weeks Shift: Days Pay Rate Type: Hourly Location: Cancer Center Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates. Min = $20.95 Mid = $26.19 Max = $31.43 Summary: The Medical Assistant provides medical assistance and administrative/clerical support within a Yuma Regional Medical Center clinic; works with multiple providers in order to provide quality coordinated care to clinic patients; demonstrates commitment to patient care by following processes as defined by Yuma Regional Medical Center policies & procedures while promoting the mission of Yuma Regional Medical Center; demonstrates knowledge for age-specific factors necessary to perform safe and effective performance of duties; maintains job specific competencies. Responsibilities: Provides direct assistance to healthcare providers as directed for patient care within the medical assistant scope of practice; measures and records vital signs; provides prompt notification of changes in patient condition to licensed healthcare provider; records patient interview, history, and chief complaint, medication reconciliation; documents current immunizations; performs routine screening tests; assists provider with exams; performs basic lab tests, phlebotomy, point of care testing, and collection of specimens; prepares and administers medications with provider authorization. Performs front desk reception; uses communication skills with appropriate medical terminology; follows appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct; answers phones and schedules appointments; greets patients, completion of registration forms, and gives instructions; files and maintains medical and financial records; processes mail; arranges for hospital admissions and outside referrals; authorize prescription refills and information to pharmacies per provider supervision. Provides appropriate infection control measures as defined by YRMC Infection Control Protocol; arrange exam/treatment rooms in preparation for clinics/procedure; maintains medical inventory in exam rooms; uses appropriate cleaning techniques between patients and clinic exam/treatment rooms; maintains supplies, linens, equipment, and stocks instruments; practices OSHA safety standards. Provides patient education with regards to medications, management of disease (under the supervision of the provider), home treatments and special diets. Performs accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times in YRMC electronic health record. Performs other position-related duties as assigned. Requirements:
