Veterans Engineering is currently looking for a detail-oriented Medical Supply Technician to join our contingent workforce. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining medical supplies and equipment, ensuring that our healthcare facilities are well-stocked and prepared to meet patient needs. You will play an essential part in inventory control, inspecting and organizing supplies, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. As a Medical Supply Technician, you will work closely with healthcare professionals to understand their needs and ensure that the right supplies are available when required. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the overall efficiency of our medical operations.
Responsibilities- Perform daily supply and inventory management activities using automated inventory systems, barcoding, and scanning equipment
- Maintain accurate inventory data, ensuring proper tracking, validation, and reconciliation of medical supplies
- Monitor stock levels, rotate supplies, and identify expired, recalled, or compromised items for immediate removal
- Interpret and apply VHA directives, SOPs, manuals, and inventory management guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Identify supply trends and anticipate future needs, making necessary adjustments to prevent shortages or overstock
- Escalate unresolved inventory issues to Supervisors, Senior Supply Technicians, or Inventory Management Specialists
- Stock and replenish supplies in primary and secondary inventory locations including wards, operating rooms, clinics, and storage areas
- Maintain clean and organized work environments while preventing cross-contamination and infection risks
- Transport and distribute medical supplies using carts and equipment across hospital departments
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and VA protocols during all tasks
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in healthcare or logistics preferred
- 2 years of experience as a medical supply technician or in a similar role is preferred
- CRCST – Certified Registered Central Service Technician (HSPA) / CLMM – Certified Logistics Materials Manager required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Familiarity with medical supply inventory management systems is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with healthcare personnel
