What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Marketing Content Writer position at Veterans Covert Protection Group?
Overview
We are looking for a Security Marketing Content Writer who can produce a high volume of smart, on-brand contentfor a security-focused audience. This person understands both modern marketing and protective/security services, and can translate complex risk and safety topics into clear, calm, educational content—not fear-based sales copy.
Your mission is to keep our content ecosystem alive and evolving: creating new assets, continually optimizing what exists, and rewriting pieces to keep them fresh, relevant, and aligned with our brand.
Key Responsibilities
High-Volume Content Creation
- Write and refine a steady stream of marketing content, including:
- Website pages and landing pages
- Blog posts and thought-leadership articles
- Email campaigns and nurture sequences
- LinkedIn posts, social media updates, and short-form content
- One-pagers, service sheets, and light case studies
- Maintain a consistent, professional voice that reflects a veteran-led, calm, educational, and non-fear-based approach to security.
Content Refresh & Optimization
- Audit existing content to identify what should be:
- Updated with new information
- Repositioned or expanded for clarity and value
- Rewritten to better target specific audiences or services
- Refresh headlines, subheads, calls-to-action, and page structure to improve clarity and engagement.
- Collaborate with SEO/analytics resources to align content with target keywords, search intent, and performance insights.
Marketing Security Alignment
- Translate security concepts (executive protection, corporate and campus security, event security, threat awareness, etc.) into accessible, business-focused language.
- Present security topics in a way that emphasizes:
- Preparedness over panic
- Education over fear
- Long-term trust over short-term sales
- Help articulate our differentiators as a security partner—professionalism, compliance, discretion, training, and veteran mindset.
Content Strategy Support
- Contribute to content calendars and campaign plans (by theme, audience, and service line).
- Repurpose content across formats:
- Turn long articles into short posts or email series
- Turn talking points into landing pages or FAQ content
- Provide ideas for pillar pages, guides, and series that position us as a trusted authority in security.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a marketing writer or content marketer (portfolio required).
- Strong ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive copy that respects a professional, non-sensational tone.
- Familiarity with the security or protection field (e.g., private security, law enforcement, risk management, corporate security, EP, events/venues, or similar domains).
- Experience writing for:
- Websites and landing pages
- Email campaigns and sequences
- Blog or article formats
- At least one B2B-focused platform (e.g., LinkedIn)
- Basic understanding of SEO best practices (keywords, headings, internal linking, search intent) and how they impact content structure.
- Ability to handle high content volume: organized, efficient, and able to move multiple pieces forward at once.
- Strong research skills and the ability to quickly understand new services, policies, and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with security firms, professional services, or regulated industries.
- Experience collaborating with SEO/analytics specialists, designers, or ad managers.
- Comfort editing or rewriting content written by others while maintaining consistent voice and clarity.
- Familiarity with basic CMS use (e.g., WordPress) and simple formatting.
Work Samples, Background, and References
- Portfolio: Writing samples that demonstrate marketing copy, educational content, and (ideally) security or risk-related topics.
- Success Examples: Any metrics or outcomes (engagement, leads, rankings, campaign performance) attached to your content are a plus.
- Background & References: Background and reference checks may be required.
