What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Maintenance Project Manager position at Veterans Choice Services LLC?
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager for our five small National Cemetery sites centered around Madison. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the National Cemeteries. This role involves a variety of tasks related to landscape maintenance, lawn care management. The Project Manager will ensure that all grounds are well-kept and contribute to a welcoming environment to visitors. We are a stable company with a solid reputation supported by decades of experience.
Duties
- Perform regular lawn care activities, including mowing, trimming, edging, and other various grounds maintenance services.
- Some snow removal duties during winter months.
- Operate handheld power equipment, various mowers safely and efficiently for various landscaping tasks.
- Conduct routine quality control inspections of grounds to identify areas needing attention or repair.
- Collaborate closely with upper leadership and cemetery personnel to complete services efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition through regular cleaning and servicing.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is required.
- Wisconsin Commercial Pesticide License is required.
- Ability to operate various hand tools and power tools safely.
- Efficient in Outlook/Excel for light daily admin reporting.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality work.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Good communication skills, professionalism, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Valid driver license. A work truck will be provided.
