What You’ll Do
SCADA System Architecture & Design:
- Lead the architecture, design, and full implementation of Ignition SCADA systems across manufacturing operations.
- Develop scalable and secure SCADA architectures including HMI design, historian databases, and industrial network configurations.
- Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation standards for all SCADA systems.
- Select and evaluate PLC hardware and industrial networking technologies for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Design industrial control system networks with appropriate segmentation, redundancy, and disaster recovery planning.
- Design and implement historian and data acquisition systems to support analytics and operational insights.
- Integrate Ignition SCADA with enterprise systems such as MES, ERP, and asset management platforms.
- Incorporate IIoT technologies and modern protocols (e.g., MQTT, OPC UA) to enable real-time visibility and control.
- Use Ignition’s Perspective, Reporting, and Alarming modules to deliver flexible dashboards and alerting solutions.
- Establish standards for PLC programming, industrial protocols, and HMI design across the facility.
- Ensure compliance with OT cybersecurity best practices, implementing robust protections for industrial environments.
- Provide Technical mentorship to SCADA teams and act as escalation support for complex system issues.
- Develop and maintain technical standards and documentation to support system maintenance and audits.

Requirements
- Must have served in the U.S. Armed Forces (active duty, reserves, or guard).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7 years of experience designing and implementing SCADA systems and industrial control networks.
- Deep expertise in the Ignition SCADA platform including modules like Perspective, Vision, Reporting, Alarming, and Tag Historian.
- Strong background in PLC/RTU programming and industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, etc.).
- Experience with industrial historian databases and time-series data management.
- Expertise in OT cybersecurity frameworks and implementation of secure control system architectures.
- Skilled in deploying Ignition in virtualized and high-availability environments with failover and redundancy.
- Practical experience in using Ignition’s IIoT and MQTT modules for real-time integration and automation.
- Knowledge of secure industrial network design including DMZs, remote access protocols, and segmentation.
- Experience integrating SCADA with MES, ERP, and asset tracking systems via middleware approaches.
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to balance operational efficiency with IT/OT security and regulatory compliance.
- Inductive Automation Certified Ignition Developer or similar SCADA certifications.
- Industrial cybersecurity certifications (e.g., GICSP, ISA/IEC 62443).
- Network or PLC certifications (e.g., CCNA Industrial, Rockwell, Siemens).
