What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Project Manager - Electrical position at Veteran Electrical Contracting?
Job Summary: Veteran Electrical Contracting is an Electrical contractor seeking an assistant project manager to help manage the growing workload.
We are a small and growing electrical contractor performing light industrial rehabilitation and renovation work
This job would be hybrid - work from home and on site.
The projects are largely based in the NYC area (all 5 boroughs with some jobs outside the area)
Responsibilities include the following:
Bidding and Estimating:
- Finding suitable jobs to bid through governmental agencies and websites.
- Performing take offs and preparing estimates.
Procurement:
- Picking material for job site
- Purchasing materials
- Expediting and delivering material to job site
- Reviewing specifications and preparing submittals
On site responsibilities
- Supervising workers in the field
- Ensuring work is performed to project specification and to expected quality
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred, but experience will be considered as well.
- Knowledge of electrical materials required.
- Ability to read electric drawings
- Proficiency in Bluebeam preferred.
- Proficiency and experience in MS Excel and MS Word required
- Drivers license required (may also need a car)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
