What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compost Technician - Farm Work position at Veteran Compost?
We have a Full-Time opening for Compost Technician / General Laborer.
Our compost facility is located in Aberdeen, MD. No previous composting experience is required.
If you like working outside and you're a motivated person, you'll like it here. We work hard, but we have a good crew of people, and work together as a team. Must be able to lift 50lbs and be able to spend the day on your feet, moving around.
Day-to-day responsibilities for the Compost Technician Position include:
- Dumping bins of food scraps
- Cleaning equipment and compost bins
- Bagging compost and soil products
- General Farm maintenance tasks
- $19/hr to start

Veteran Compost is an established and certified composting company in Aberdeen, MD. We employ Veterans and Veteran family members in a variety of composting roles including on the farm, food scrap collection and residential and commercial sales. Our goal is reducing organic waste and repairing soil in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia by using Maryland state and industry approved composting methods.
