South Boulder Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team! We are a close-knit and high quality “work hard/play hard” practice dedicated to providing excellent client service, highly skilled medical care, and a positive work environment.
For the vet tech positions, we are seeking candidates with experience in venipuncture, radiology, proper handling of medical records, surgical assistance, maintaining and monitoring anesthetized patients, client education, and more!
Our technical staff plays an important role in providing excellent care for our patients as well as serving as vital communicators for our practice. Excellent client service and communication skills are a must. Care and compassion rank high and is required of all our team members. - Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform routine procedures such as administering medications, taking vital signs, and collecting samples
- Monitor patients during surgery and recovery
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans
- Handle and restrain animals as needed
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary clinic
- Assist with X-rays and other diagnostic imaging procedures
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent certification preferred
- Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician
- Proficient in animal handling techniques
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Strong understanding of animal husbandry practices
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Surgical assisting experience as well as anesthetic monitoring
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
