Overnight Technician/Assistant- Primary caregivers for the pet(s) within our hospital. Record-keeping and communication skills are a must. The position involves animal husbandry and janitorial tasks. Responsible for the safety, care, direct supervision, feeding, cleaning, and exercising of dogs in our facility. Must be adaptable, able to read behavioral cues, be responsible, and self-motivated. A minimum of three years Veterinary experience required.

- Role: Overnight Veterinary Technician
- Status: Full-time
- Salary: Negotiable and based on experience with shift differential, Sign-on bonus for LVTs with a current license
- Schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 5 days off

- Position requires the ability to walk, bend, stoop and/or work in a bent position, and reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour day.
- Frequently use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel.
- Use strength or agility in restraining stronger, more active animals. Frequently lift and/or move up to a minimum of 40 pounds. Occasionally handle dogs weighing up to or over 150lbs with assistance.
- Must be willing to work long or irregular hours under fast-paced conditions and in an outdoor setting.
- Must possess visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people and understand written directions.
- Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give information in person or over the phone.
- Current and valid license as a certified veterinary technician or a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs and veterinary terminology.
- Working knowledge of common animal diseases and their symptoms, means of transmission, treatment, and prevention.
- Knowledge of the instruments, materials, and standardized procedures used in all veterinary procedures. Knowledge of sterilization and aseptic technique.
- Critical thinking. Understanding logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments. Self-motivated.
