Market & Technology- Applications Lab Intern/ Co-Op (Paid Internship)

We are seeking a motivated M&T Intern to support our Brook Park Applications Laboratory. This role will work closely with the Lab Manager and Product Manager to support product testing, data analysis, and technical initiatives that enhance the performance and visibility of FOSECO's binder product line.This internship role offers hands-on learning, real-world industrial lab exposure, and the opportunity to collaborate with experts in engineering, chemistry, and technical sales.What You’ll DoSupport daily lab testing activities, including:Sand characterization.Resin characterization aligned with AFS and global protocols.Resin-sand testing based on internal and customer specifications.Collaborate with internal technical and commercial teams to support customer solutions.Assist in special cross-functional technical projects.Participate occasionally in customer or supplier site visits.Enter and track lab samples, test requests, and data documentation.Apply & lean tools such as 5S to maintain an organized, safe, and efficient lab environment.What We’re Looking ForCompetenciesCuriosity and information seeking; someone proactive in learning new techniques and methodologies.Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.Strong work ethic with results-driven focus.Integrity and courage to make responsible decisions.Strong analytical and problem-solving approach; ability to break down challenges and prioritize tasks.SkillsEffective written and verbal communication.Ability to work professionally with internal stakeholders and external contacts.Proficiency in MS Office.Willingness to learn lab procedures and maintain strict safety standards.Bonus: prior lab experience is helpful, but not required.Education & QualificationsCurrent college senior or recent graduate in:ChemistryEngineeringBiologyMaterials Scienceor a related technical/science fieldPrior lab experience preferred.Foundry or materials industry experience is a plus, but not required.Company DescriptionVesuvius is a global leader in molten metal flow engineering and technology, primarily serving the global steel and foundry industries.
