What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant First Shift - Material Handler position at Vestil Manufacturing Corporation?
Production Hours Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm
Responsible for unloading steel trucks and the safe, efficient movement, storage, and delivery of materials throughout the department. The ideal candidate will help minimize machine downtime by keeping materials organized and readily available to operators
Job Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming steel deliveries and verify accuracy against orders
- Inspect, sort, stage, and deliver materials to machine operators
- Ensure materials meet all specified quality and quantity standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Operate forklifts (both stand-up and sit-down) safely and efficiently
- During down time may run machines and other areas within the machine shop as needed
- Excellent fork truck operation skills - stand up and sit down

Job Requirements:
- Prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, with a focus on material handling
- Prior experience in material handling within a warehouse or manufacturing setting
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills and math proficiency for inventory tracking
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Flexibility to work overtime when required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regularly
- Frequent bending, twisting, and squatting required
- Must have normal visual and auditory acuity, including peripheral vision and distance sight
