Production Hours Monday - Friday
The Paint Prep Technician is responsible for preparing products for the painting process. Duties include inspecting welds, removing imperfections such as BBs and sharp edges, cleaning, and staging items for the paint booth. The role requires attention to detail, safe work practices, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Responsibilities:
- Review scheduled inventory for paint preparation
- Receive and follow work schedule from the supervisor or lead
- Retrieve products from staging using a forklift, pallet jack, or cart
- Inspect products for quality issues including missing welds, sharp edges, and surface imperfections
- Smooth welds and remove BBs using tools such as putty knives, sanders, angle grinders, or other hand tools
- Clean products in a power wash booth using degreasing agents and power washers (this process may involve getting wet)
- Dry cleaned products using an air hose and move them to the staging area
- Assist in moving products from the paint area and/or onto racks using a hoist when necessary
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and effectively
- Utilize time management and prioritization skills to complete tasks within the scheduled work hours
- Perform tasks independently with minimal supervision
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety rules and guidelines

Job Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and perform physically demanding tasks such as bending, twisting, and squatting throughout the workday
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools
- Capable of operating forklifts and pallet jacks (certification preferred)
- Ability to work safely in a wet environment (power wash area)
- Must be self-motivated, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong visual and auditory perception for safety and product quality
Work Environment:
- This position may require working in wet, noisy, and physically demanding conditions
- Occasional overtime may be required based on production needs
