Role Description The Technician II role is a full-time position based in Portland, OR, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some tasks to be performed from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing routine and corrective maintenance on wind turbine components, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and assisting in the installation, inspection, and repair of equipment. The Technician II will follow safety procedures and compliance standards, document work performed in maintenance systems, and communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to coordinate activities. The role may involve working at heights, using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and participating in on-call or shift rotations as needed.
Qualifications
- Technical skills in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems related to industrial or energy equipment, with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Experience using diagnostic tools, maintenance software, and basic computer applications to document work and analyze equipment performance.
- Strong commitment to safety practices, including working at heights, using personal protective equipment, and following lockout/tagout and other safety protocols.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in field environments and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant technical education such as a vocational certificate, associate degree, or equivalent experience in wind technology, electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment, work in varying weather conditions, and travel to sites as needed; prior experience in wind energy or heavy industrial maintenance is beneficial.
