Role Description The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is a full-time, on-site role based in Athens, OH, responsible for providing safe and efficient pre-hospital care and transport for patients. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, assessing patient conditions, delivering basic life support, and assisting with advanced life support under appropriate supervision. The EMT will operate and maintain emergency vehicles and equipment, document patient care and transport accurately, and communicate effectively with dispatch, healthcare facilities, and other team members. This role also involves following all clinical protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements, as well as participating in ongoing training and quality improvement activities.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Emergency Services, with the ability to respond effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Current certification or eligibility with the U.S. National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) at EMT or higher level.
- Knowledge of Paramedic-level practices and general Medicine principles relevant to pre-hospital care and patient transport.
- Valid state EMT certification/licensure and CPR certification; ACLS/PALS certifications are beneficial.
- Ability to lift, move, and transport patients and equipment safely, and operate emergency vehicles in compliance with company and local regulations.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills, with a commitment to patient-centered, non-discriminatory care.
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited EMT training program is essential.
