We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and driven Real Estate Settlement Processor/Closer to manage files from opening through closing in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role requires the ability to effectively multitask, communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, and take full ownership of transactions while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate is resourceful, organized, and experienced in managing multiple real estate transactions simultaneously, with a strong understanding of title and settlement processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in real estate title, escrow, or settlement processing
- Experience handling Virginia transactions
- Basic understanding of mortgage documents and title processes
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Proficiency in title production software and Microsoft Office
- Must be a Virginia State Notary
- Title Producer License a plus but not required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple files in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service focus
- Working knowledge of real estate title and settlement processes
- Experience with Qualia or similar title software preferred
- Demonstrate reliability and ability to consistently meet deadlines while maintaining quality
- Strong document review and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to manage high-volume workloads with accuracy
- Paralegal experience is a plus
- Must be able to operate a computer, phone, and standard office equipment
Essential Functions
- Review, clear, and manage title commitments; identify underwriting concerns
- Coordinate with lenders, agents, buyers, sellers, and other stakeholders throughout each transaction
- Order title bring-downs, tax certifications, and required closing documentation
- Obtain and review conveyancing documents
- Prepare and monitor daily deposits and file disbursements
- Respond to client and customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Complete curative work to achieve clear-to-close status
- Conduct and facilitate closing appointments with clients
- Maintain accurate, organized, and complete transaction records and communications
Travel
Limited travel for closing appointments, IRS mileage rate is provided
Working Hours and Location
- Minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- This is an in-office position in Richmond, VA
