This executive-level role is pivotal in shaping legal strategy, mitigating risk, and guiding the company through complex government procurement and regulatory environments. The VP will serve as the chief legal advisor to executive leadership, oversee contract governance, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position offers the opportunity to influence strategic decisions and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment. Requirements:Key ResponsibilitiesExecutive Leadership & StrategyServe as the chief legal advisor to executive leadership. Develop and execute legal and compliance strategies aligned with business objectives. Oversee Legal, Contracts, and Compliance teams, ensuring operational excellence. Contract Governance & Public Sector ComplianceLead drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex agreements. Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, GSA schedules, and state/local procurement regulations. Maintain oversight of contract lifecycle management processes. Risk Management & Regulatory OversightIdentify and mitigate legal and contractual risks. Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and regulatory frameworks (NIST 800-171, CMMC, ISO-9001). Direct internal investigations and manage sensitive legal matters. Corporate & Commercial Legal SupportSupport corporate transactions, including partnerships and distribution agreements. Manage supplier IP, software licensing, and data usage rights. Provide guidance on employment law and dispute resolution. Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Sales, Finance, and Operations for deal execution. Support proposal teams with solicitation requirements. Communicate legal considerations across internal and external stakeholders. Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead and mentor the Legal and Contracts team. Manage outside counsel relationships. Deliver company-wide compliance training programs. Required QualificationsEducation: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active membership in a U.S. state bar. Experience: 10 years of legal experience with federal contracting exposure. Proven track record in senior legal leadership roles within IT or public sector markets. Expertise in FAR/DFARS, software/cloud licensing, and public sector contracting. Skills: Exceptional leadership and communication skills. Strong negotiation and drafting abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment. Preferred QualificationsExperience with federal reseller or distribution models.
