Description:Department / TeamEnterprise Operations Reports ToChief Technology Officer Location & Work ModelLeesburg, VA — Hybrid FLSA StatusExempt Position SummaryVertosoft is seeking an experienced and motivated Proposal Writer & Project Manager to support our growing Government Sales and Business Development teams. This position plays a key role in developing high-quality proposals, coordinating cross-functional input, and ensuring timely and compliant responses to Federal and SLED (State, Local, and Education) solicitations. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with exceptional writing and organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. You will be responsible for drafting, editing, and managing proposal content—from RFP analysis through submission—and overseeing the proposal development process to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance. In addition, you will manage internal proposal projects, schedules, and deliverables to support Vertosoft’s pursuit of new business opportunities. Requirements:Key ResponsibilitiesLead the proposal development process from opportunity identification through final submission, ensuring all deliverables are compliant, compelling, and timely. Write, edit, and format proposal content including technical narratives, executive summaries, past performance, and management plans. Analyze RFPs/RFIs/RFQs and develop outlines, compliance matrices, and proposal schedules. Coordinate and manage inputs from internal teams (sales, technical, contracts, finance, marketing) and external partners or ISVs. Develop and maintain proposal templates, style guides, and content libraries to streamline future responses.Facilitate proposal reviews (pink, red, and gold teams), capture feedback, and oversee final revisions and production.Manage multiple concurrent proposal efforts, tracking timelines, dependencies, and deliverables across teams.Support capture and business development efforts by developing responses to sources sought, capability statements, and marketing materials. Contribute to continuous improvement of Vertosoft’s proposal management processes, tools, and systems. Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. 3–5 years of experience in proposal writing or proposal management for Federal and/or SLED government contracts.Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and general government procurement processes.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple proposals and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document collaboration tools.Strong organizational and time management skills. Preferred QualificationsAPMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) certification or equivalent proposal management training.Experience working with technology resellers, distributors, or systems integrators in the public sector. Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Asana, Smartsheet). Basic understanding of government cloud or software procurement processes.
