Optimization Service Support Engineer

We are now looking for an Optimization Service Support Engineer to join our team in Piove di Sacco, Italy. 

• This position will be part of a team primarily focused in Application engineering activities, in this case specialized on Thermal Management solutions. Working very close to R&D and project management organization his contribution during the development of new SW control requirements for complex Thermal installations will be crucial.
• Offering Overall Technical Support throughout Special Project Design, Execution, Installation, Commissioning and Operating phases, to EMEA and non-EMEA organizations, including Official Vertiv and Partners, via remote and site visit to support commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrade of Liebert Thermal Products, with specific reference to Application and Software.
• This position will report directly to the to the Optimization Services Manager.

 What kind of work will you be doing?

• As part of the NPDI process, follow Special and Complex Projects together with R&D, Offering and Service to provide continuity and consistence in the technical support to the field;
• Ensuring proper technical handover to local Service team and Central Technical Support organization for Special and Complex Projects;
• Provide on-site Support during Level 4 and 5 tests for Special and Complex Projects and/or Products during Commissioning and Customer specific Testing;
• Managing Customer required modifications for already delivered Projects, evaluating feasibility and elaborating the solution for the required modifications, in collaboration with other company departments;
• Provide Level 2/3 Support and Troubleshooting for already delivered and commissioned Special and Complex Projects, including site visits when required;
• Manage all the above activities respecting legal requirements defined by the ITC regulation and environmental requirements defined by EU regulations and local norms.

 What will make you successful?

• School Background: BS in engineering (preferably Electronic/Automation/Information Science);
• Language skills: English written and spoken (other languages are a plus);
• Able to work within a team environment and co-ordinate when required;
• Technical / Functional skills;
• 3-5 years of experience in HVAC industry with specific reference to Software Application Development;
• Knowledge or experience of PLC-like programming environments / ability to work with PLC-design-IDE environments;
• Previous experience of commissioning and testing in an engineering / industrial environment;
• Good understanding of control systems including but not limited to:
• Hardware;
• Networking concepts & hardware;
• Fieldbus technology;
• Industrial Drives;
• Knowledge of visualization systems;
• Strong technical understanding;
• Organizational skills.
