- The ideal candidate will have experience Working with various HAND TOOLS and POWER TOOLS, reading blueprints, and utilizing tape measures etc.... Any Mounting experience is a bonus. Primarily, you need to have experience with POWER TOOLS and HAND TOOLS - drills, impact wrenches, torque wrenches, etc. As a note we do Not have Air Conditioning in the plant. The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for safely and effectively preparing and assembling mechanical components from intake to shipment.
- Maintain a positive, solutions-focused, and productive attitude in support of plant goals for reliability, safety, integrity, quality, and overall performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to assemble mechanical components using hand tools, torque wrenches, and other equipment.
- Utilize forklifts, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment to transport components within the facility.
- Perform mechanical troubleshooting to identify and address issues during assembly and ensure proper documentation of corrective actions.
- Collaborate with team members to solve production challenges and meet daily targets.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks and support engineering or electrical teams when needed.
- Maintain accurate production records, including parts assembled and quantities completed.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Prior experience using hand tools and operating forklifts
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and safe work practices
- Associate’s Degree or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience or prior certification in operating overhead cranes
- Familiarity with mechanical fitting in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to routinely lift 50 lbs and transport objects as needed
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including bending, twisting, squatting, and climbing
- Manual dexterity to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments where temperatures may exceed 100°F or fall below 32°F, including exposure to environmental elements
