The
Plumbing Mechanic
is responsible for the installation and layout of plumbing systems in commercial new construction projects. This includes reading blueprints, installing piping systems, and ensuring all work meets code and quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong experience in commercial plumbing and can work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Install water supply and drainage systems in new commercial buildings
- Lay out, assemble, and install piping systems, fixtures, and equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes
- Cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles using appropriate tools
- Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment
- Perform pressure tests and inspections to ensure system integrity
- Work closely with foremen, project managers, and other trades on-site
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Adhere to all company policies and OSHA safety standards
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of commercial plumbing experience
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and construction procedures
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Reliable transportation and basic tool set
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
- Journeyman plumbing license (if required by local/state laws)
