Requirements
We are searching for a candidate with:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving or a related field.
- Knowledge of shipping procedures, documentation, and regulations.
- Proficiency in using computer.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under tight deadlines.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy boxes and packages up to 50 LBS.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Knowledge of basic hand tools.
- Ability to measure within 1/16”
Duties and Responsibilities
A typical day may include:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments of goods and materials.
- Verify the accuracy of shipment contents against shipping documents.
- Record and track shipment details in a computer database or manual log.
- Package, label, and prepare outgoing shipments for delivery.
- Select and arrange carriers and transportation modes based on shipment characteristics and destination.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of shipments.
- Maintain inventory records and monitor stock levels.
- Identify and report any shipment discrepancies, damages, or other issues.
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and safety standards.
- Fill in for additional general warehouse duties & activities.
- Forklift loading & offloading.
