What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control Manager position at Vertical Converting LLC?
Vertical Converting dba Sierra Hygiene Products is looking for a sharp, tech-savvy, and incredibly organized Inventory Control Manager to take ownership of the data, logistics, and procurement support within our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be the guardian of our inventory accuracy and the primary coordinator for the materials and parts that keep our facility running.
We value aptitude, technical skill, and a meticulous mindset above all else. This role is ideal for a data-driven professional who enjoys managing complex systems and ensuring that every physical asset in the building is accounted for and available when needed.
Vertical Converting is a paper converting manufacturer located in Frostburg and Cumberland, MD. This position is for the Frostburg plant. This is a Monday – Friday position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shipment & Logistics: Coordinate all inbound and outbound shipment scheduling, ensuring 100% documentation accuracy and timely arrivals/departures.
- Inventory Stewardship: Track the movement of raw materials and finished goods with precision. Oversee cycle counts and audits to ensure the ERP reflects physical reality.
- Quality Control: Conduct rigorous inspections of incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods to ensure all items meet company quality standards.
- Procurement & Invoicing: Manage the ordering and invoice approval process for non-major raw materials, ensuring constant supply levels without overstocking.
- MRO & Equipment Parts: Take full ownership of the equipment parts inventory. This includes tracking usage, managing the organization of the parts room, and ordering replacements to prevent maintenance downtime.
- Building Data Integrity: Serve as the lead for overall facility data accuracy, troubleshooting discrepancies and refining digital workflows to eliminate errors.
TECHNICAL SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Microsoft Excel Expert: You must be able to use Pivot Tables, advanced formulas, and data modeling to manage facility-wide inventory.
- Technology Focused: A "power user" of digital tools. You must have the ability to master and optimize WMS/ERP software and other tracking technologies.
- Exceptional Organization: Ability to manage multiple categories of inventory (raw materials, finished goods, and equipment parts) simultaneously.
- Detail Oriented: A refusal to accept "close enough." You prioritize accuracy in both physical counting and digital record-keeping.
- Financial Literacy: Basic understanding of the invoicing and procurement cycle to manage vendor relationships and approvals effectively.
The Ideal Mindset:
You are the type of person who finds satisfaction in a perfectly organized spreadsheet and a perfectly organized warehouse. You are proactive—ordering parts before they run out and catching data errors before they impact the bottom line.
We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision and other voluntary insurances, and a 401k with company match.
