Position Type: Full-Time, In-Person, Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Vertical Cable is seeking a detail-oriented Warehouse Shipping Specialist to join our warehouse and operations team. The ideal candidate must have hands-on knowledge of parcel shipping, LTL (Less-Than-Truckload), and Full Truckload (FTL/TL) shipments. This role is responsible for selecting the most cost-effective shipping method, coordinating shipments with carriers, preparing shipping documentation, and ensuring orders are delivered accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Process daily shipments using parcel, LTL, and Full Truckload carriers.
- Determine the most efficient and cost-effective shipping method based on shipment size, weight, destination, and customer requirements.
- Prepare Bills of Lading (BOL), shipping labels, packing lists, and other required shipping documents.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with freight carriers.
- Obtain and compare freight quotes to ensure competitive transportation costs.
- Track shipments and proactively resolve delivery issues or delays.
- Communicate with warehouse, sale assistants, and sales teams regarding shipping status and special shipping requirements.
- Ensure all shipments comply with company policies and carrier requirements.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the TSM/ERP System
- Assist with freight claims, damaged shipments, and carrier discrepancies.
- Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure orders are shipped accurately and on schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of shipping or logistics experience.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Parcel shipping (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.)
- LTL freight
- Full Truckload (FTL/TL)
- Experience using carrier portals, TMS, or ERP systems.
- Ability to read freight classifications, shipping documents, and Bills of Lading.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple shipments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience negotiating freight rates with carriers and brokers.
- Knowledge of NMFC classifications, freight density, and accessorial charges.
- Experience with domestic and international shipping.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
