Salary: Safety Program Analyst Location: Alexandria, VA (Hybrid onsite 23 days per week)Vertical Aviation International (VAI) is seeking a Safety Program Analyst to join our Safety team. This is an excellent entrylevel opportunity for a recent college graduate with a background in engineering (or a related technical field) and a strong interest in aviation safety.In this role, youll help advance VAIs mission to elevate global verticalaviation safety by supporting research, analyzing safety data, and contributing to safety programs that serve operators, manufacturers, regulators, and the broader aviation community. Youll gain exposure to realworld aviation safety challenges while working alongside experienced industry professionals.What Youll Do:Data Analysis & ResearchCollect, clean, and analyze aviation accident, incident, and safetyrisk data from domestic and international sourcesHelp develop recurring safety reports, dashboards, and metricsConduct research and literature reviews to support safety programs, presentations, and industry initiativesAssist in maintaining safety databases and tracking safety trendsSafety Program SupportSupport VAI safety education and outreach programsProvide analytical and research support to VAI safety advisory councils and working groupsContribute to safety presentations, webinars, publications, and conference materialsIndustry EngagementSupport VAIs participation in aviation safety meetings, panels, and working groupsAssist with member and public requests for safety informationHelp support safety activities at VERTICON and other VAIsponsored eventsCommunication & VisualizationHelp translate data and research into clear summaries, visualizations, and insights for technical and nontechnical audiencesContribute content to VAI safety publications and digital platformsOther DutiesSupport additional safetyrelated projects as neededWhat Were Looking For:Required QualificationsBachelors degree in engineering, Aviation Management, Aviation Safety, or a closely related fieldStrong interest in aviation, safety, or risk analysisDemonstrated analytical skills through coursework, projects, internships, or researchFamiliarity with tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Python, or R (academic experience is welcomed)Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a collaborative teamAbility to work onsite 23 days per week in Alexandria, VANice to Have (Not Required)Internship, research, or capstone experience involving data analysis, safety, or engineering systemsExposure to aviation safety concepts and Safety Management Systems (SMS)Experience working with large or complex datasets through coursework or projectsInterest in or academic exposure to human factors, system safety, or risk managementGeneral aviation experience or flight training (a plus, but not expected)Why Join VAI?Handson experience in aviation safety at an international trade associationMentorship and exposure to industry expertsOpportunities to contribute to impactful safety programs early in your careerHybrid work environment with regular team collaborationVertical Aviation International is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
