This role will support our North Atlantic region of companies – ideally located in Charlotte, NC on a hybrid basis.
Who We Are Looking For
Vertex Service Partners is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role bridges hands-on accounting tasks with leadership responsibilities, making it an excellent fit for someone who wants to step up their accounting career while working closely with both finance leadership and operational teams.
The Senior Accountant will manage and execute a variety of accounting functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, intercompany transactions, and process improvement initiatives. They will be a pivotal support piece within the region, able to step into the financials of each sub-brand as needed to assist and troubleshoot issues.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and participate in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and investigate discrepancies.
- Support financial reporting by preparing accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting systems, processes, and controls.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff, serving as a resource for accounting best practices.
- Assist partner companies with financial integration and operational accounting functions.
- Perform variance analysis and identify trends or issues affecting financial performance.
- Maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency across regional entities.
- Support credit card management and expense review processes.
Experience & Skills
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting role, including “hands-on” work within the accounting functions.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting processes.
- Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Sage Intacct) and Microsoft Excel.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Preferred but Not Required:
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA designation.
- Experience with private equity-backed organizations or industries with seasonal demand fluctuations.
- Knowledge of CRM systems like ServiceTitan.
- Previous experience with process improvement or system implementation initiatives.
Compensation and Benefits
Vertex intends to offer the selected candidate a competitive base salary plus an annual bonus potential. The actual offer will be based on experience and qualifications.

Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
