NOW HIRING COLORADO POST-CERTIFIED ARMED OFFICERS ONLY
Vertex Security Services is expanding in Pitkin County and immediately seeking currently Colorado POST-certified armed officers (or out-of-state POST officers able to obtain Colorado certification within 30 days) for high-visibility courthouse, airport, and county facility assignments.
Pay & Benefits
$40.00 per hour straight time
$60.00 per hour overtime & holidays (plenty available)

Requirements – NO EXCEPTIONS
- Current Colorado Peace Officer Standards & Training (POST) certification – required at time of application
– Out-of-state POST accepted if you can obtain Colorado Provisional/Reserve certification within 30 days
- Able to pass comprehensive federal/state background check, drug screen, and obtain TSA SIDA badge (airport positions)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- 21 years of age, U.S. citizen or authorized to work
- Professional appearance and demeanor (Aspen-level customer service expected)
Preferred (will receive priority hiring & scheduling preference)
- Local Roaring Fork Valley resident
- Prior courthouse, airport, or municipal security experience
- Military or law enforcement veterans
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Positions & Schedules
- Courthouse (2 officers daily, Mon–Fri days)
- Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (TSA checkpoint & terminal security)
- County administrative buildings & roving patrols
- Mix of fixed posts and rotating schedules – full-time guaranteed hours
This is a career position with a respected local Aspen company, not a national chain. We are targeting 85% local hires from the Roaring Fork Valley.
