Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly in both English and Spanish, providing excellent customer service at the front desk.
- Schedule appointments accurately using Web PT.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits,ensuring proper authorization and documentation review.
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and taking detailed messages.
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure proper filing of documents in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Assist with intake procedures, including patient registration, updating medical histories, and explaining clinic policies.
- Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and documentation review for accuracy.
- Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers regarding care plans and follow-up appointments.
- Use computer skills to navigate various EMR systems seamlessly while maintaining high levels of accuracy in data entry.
Skills
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is essential for effective communication with diverse patient populations.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Web PT and Therabill.
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes including Medicare and Medicaid requirements.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and a friendly demeanor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) along with typing skills including 10-key typing speed.
- Ability to handle clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning documents, and managing multi-line phone systems efficiently.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to health information management and confidentiality standards.
- Previous clinic or doctor office experience is a plus; familiarity with physical therapy terminology or hospital experience is advantageous.
