What are the responsibilities and job description for the VAW-120 - E-2 Aircraft Mechanic II (Corrosion Control) - Norfolk, VA position at Vertex Aerospace LLC?
The Aircraft Mechanic II will perform O-Level flight-hour, calendar and conditional inspections and maintains military paint schemes. The Aircraft Mechanic II will have a thorough knowledge of all forms of aircraft corrosion prevention and control, and the repair process for each technique. The Aircraft Mechanic II (Corrosion Control) will perform maintenance, interpret OEM manuals, service bulletins and other related technical data within budgeted time and within V2X Corporation and our customers' standards of quality. Organize work plan in an efficient and resourceful manner. The Aircraft Mechanic II leads teams through more complex aircraft-relevant tasks and may inspect the work of Mechanic Is as well as other Mechanic IIs. The Aircraft Mechanic II is responsible to work in a safe manner eliminating waste and delivering a quality product on time. The Aircraft Mechanic II must acquire and maintain a Collateral Duty Inspector Designation.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Previously attended Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM) "A" school or equivalent.
- Paint, Final Finish Insignia (N-701-0014) and Aircraft Corrosion (N-701-0013) or equivalent
- Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or Weekend shift as required.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule as required.
- Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, climb on top of and work under aircraft.
- Must be able to use hand and power tools.
- Must have dexterity to handle small parts.
- Must be eligible for a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Other Requirements:
- Must be able to become eligible for a Secret Security Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data system
- Desired Qualifications:
- Three or more years' experience performing Aviation Corrosion Control on E-2C/D aircraft
- Previously certified Corrosion Control Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI)
