CBA - Maintenance Spec II / GSE Technician - F5 - Beaufort, SC

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Operates and performs operational checks on GSE.
• Operates SE, flight line vehicles and other support equipment as required.
• Performs Daily and Preventative Maintenance inspections on GSE and company industrial vehicles.
• Performs Acceptance and Transfer inspection on GSE as required.
• Performs daily duties normally associated with this specialty.
• Certified to perform Hydraulic samples, documenting results on all assets as required.
• Certified to perform Tire and Wheel maintenance as required.
• Certified as a CAT 3 “Non-Cab” Crane Safety Operator.
• Qualified as a SE Operator Training Phase I Instructor, documenting the training in Readiness Insight as required.
• Qualified to perform corrosion detection, treatment, prevention on GSE.
• Uses publications to inspect, service, and repair GSE, ensuring all required records and applicable maintenance forms are completed and maintained.
• Checks out and turns in GSE as required, ensuring all required records and applicable maintenance forms are completed and maintained.
• Provides technical assistance, guidance, and training, documenting it in Readiness Insight as required.
• Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, fastener control, and safety always.
• Assists in flight line foreign object prevention walks.
• Comply with Hazardous Material Control and Management Program.
• Assist in the upkeep of the SE Operator Training and Licensing and SE Maintenance Programs.
• Documents maintenance, corrosion treatment and prevention actions.
• Assist with ordering parts, tools, materials, and equipment, reconciling with material control as required.
• Maintains pre-expended bins, accounting for all consumables.
• Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities, and job assignment.
• Must be able to work either day shift, night shift or weekend duty and travel as a detachment as required.
• Perform other tasks and assists other specialties as directed by management.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

• • Ground support equipment mechanics shall have three years of experience within their specific aircraft maintenance occupational field.
  • Satisfactory completion of U.S. Armed Forces ground support maintenance/repair courses or equivalent preferred but not required. Must be able to meet Government/Company licensing/ qualification requirements for the position.
  • Must have successfully completed approved course or training as required by Company, State/Local Govt, DOD, regulation/Instruction.
  • Must be familiar with aircraft support equipment, tools, drawings, schematics, and normal safety requirements
  • Have your own tools required to complete a variety of maintenance tasks as needed
  • Personnel shall be qualified according to their field of expertise and the level of maintenance assigned, i.e., “O” or “I” level.
  • Must have a collateral duty assigned by management.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a secret clearance.
  • Must be a US citizen and completed high school or equivalent.
  • Will have experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy.
  • Will have knowledge of and understand basic supply procedures.
  • Participates in daily hangar cleanups.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be customer service oriented and possess the ability to communicate professionally, courteously, and respectfully

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Physical Demands:

This classification activity requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with shop/hanger/flight line maintenance activities to include bending, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, stretching, kneeling, and working in tiring, uncomfortable positions, etc. May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.

Work Environment:

The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
