The Senior Cloud Engineer is a highly experienced individual contributor responsible for designing, implementing, and improving core infrastructure services across Vertafore’s hybrid cloud environment. This role requires deep technical expertise in AWS and datacenter infrastructure and the ability to mentor other engineers.
Senior Cloud Engineers lead complex infrastructure initiatives, develop automation solutions, and serve as subject matter experts for critical platform components.
Key Responsibilities
· Design, build, and maintain infrastructure platforms across AWS and colocation environments.
· Implement scalable solutions for compute, networking, storage, and identity services.
· Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
· Build automation that improves infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows.
· Serve as a technical mentor to Cloud Engineers.
· Lead complex infrastructure projects and platform improvements.
· Provide deep technical guidance during incident response and troubleshooting.
· Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure resilience, performance, and scalability.
· Partner with SRE teams to ensure infrastructure supports service reliability goals.
