Should this role be assigned to you, you’d be responsible for tasks including but not limited to:
Act as Mechanical Tech / Lead for testing and commissioning activities and recording results.- Understand and implement the Commissioning Strategy.
- Develop and write Commissioning test documents based on contract documents and relevant Governing Codes, Standard and Regulations.
- Manage reporting and close-out of commissioning deficiencies.
- Provide technical engineering information and interpretation of commissioning results.
- Monitor installation of mechanical systems conformance to contract drawings to assist quality control and commissioning team.
- Monitor design changes issued by Consultants and ensure they are captured onsite and in commissioning documentation.
- Continually find solutions to conflicts in mechanical drawings and specifications by conferring with the Consultants. Co-ordinate these solutions with the various sub-trades.
- Review shop drawings for conformance with the contract documents and commissioning procedures.
- Identify contract document conflicts and recommend solutions.
- Ensuring construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instruction.
An “experienced Mechanical Commissioning Technician” can mean different things to different folks. So, let’s clarify this together, shall we?
As our ideal candidate, you should meet the following requirements:
10 years of mechanical commissioning experience
Experience with compression, pumps, valves, and piping
Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or Journeyman certificate required
Ability to read and comprehend written materials, drawings, and instructions
Smart Completions Experience is preferred
Ability to prepare detailed technical reports
Must be proficient with computers and software MS office (Word, Excel)
Ability to adhere to confidentiality when working with sensitive information
Ability to work with strong attention to detail and timelines
Ability to work with logical processes and detail oriented
Valid Driver’s License
First Aid/CPR, OSHA 10, GHS, Defensive Driving, H2S Awareness
Must be willing to travel as required
