In this role you will operate a sit-down forklift to load, unload and move materials within or near the plant, yard or work site and maintain the integrity of the physical and perpetual inventory.
Material Handler Job Duties:
- Physical receiving of materials and supplies. This includes the verification of material by part number and quantity against the packing slip provided by the supplier.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments rejecting damaged items and noting shortages. Notify Quality and / or Purchasing Coordinator of these instances.
- Ensure that all materials and supplies received moved to their correction location in the plant. This should be done the same day the material is received.
- Inform recipients of shipments as needed.
- Operates industrial fork truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Schedule:
Train on 1st: 7:00am-3:00pm
2nd: 3:30pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday
Pay: $18-20 /hourly (experience based)
Material Handler Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or 1 – 3 months related experience and / or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information customers, clients and other employees of the organization in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to add and subtract 2-digit numbers and to multiply and divide 10s and 100s
