ROLE SUMMARY
VERSANT is seeking a dynamic Director, Financial Communications and Media Relations to join our Communications team. In this highly collaborative role, you will oversee the development and execution of communications strategies to enhance VERSANT’s visibility with financial stakeholders. Reporting to the VP of Media Relations, the Director will manage all aspects of financial media relations and earnings communications.

VERSANT is seeking a dynamic Director, Financial Communications and Media Relations to join our Communications team. In this highly collaborative role, you will oversee the development and execution of communications strategies to enhance VERSANT’s visibility with financial stakeholders. Reporting to the VP of Media Relations, the Director will manage all aspects of financial media relations and earnings communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the VP, Media Relations and Investor Relations team on the development and drafting of earnings releases, prepared remarks, call scripts, investor Q&A documents, and follow-up media engagement.
- Build and maintain relationships with top-tier financial and business journalists, proactively positioning VERSANT’s strategy and results in the marketplace.
- Ensure all financial communications adhere to SEC rules, Regulation FD, and industry best practices.
- Support investor days, analyst meetings, and industry conferences by crafting narratives, speeches, and media framing that reinforce VERSANT's financial and strategic story. Monitor analyst coverage, peer communications, and media sentiment; synthesize insights into actionable reporting for senior leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8-10 years experience in corporate communications, financial communications, investor relations, or related fields.
- Direct experience supporting a publicly traded company (in-house or agency side).
- Deep understanding of financial statements, KPIs, capital markets, and disclosure practices.
- Proven ability to translate complex financial information into clear, compelling, and compliant communications for investors, analysts, and media.
- Demonstrated success building strong relationships with top-tier business and financial journalists.
- Strong writing, editing, and messaging skills across press releases, executive remarks, and media Q&As.
- Experience navigating SEC disclosure rules, Regulation FD, and governance-related communications.
- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the NYC office a minimum of three days per week.
- This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other benefits and perks. Salary range: $130,000 - $150,000 (bonus and long term incentive eligible)
