Job Description
MS NOW Digital is looking for a highly motivated and qualified designer to join our art and photo department. This position will work closely with our art director, photo editors, and editors to visualize our stories and build our brand on MS NOW.
The ideal candidate is an imaginative thinker who thrives in high-pressure situations and finds extreme satisfaction in finding new ways to tell stories. They must manage and deliver high quality visuals on tight deadlines. Organization, communication, and speed are paramount.
This position is based in NY.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000

Job Description

Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and deliver still and animated graphics within required deadlines
- Work closely with digital editorial teams to meet deadlines and fulfill requests
- Present creative solutions to editorial needs across all digital platforms
- Create reported graphics that help further our reporting, as well as helping to build our styles and guidance for reported graphics
- Storyboard and present conceptual designs to the art director, as well as editorial partners across the the site and all digital platforms
- Collaborate with the art director and editors on daily visuals as well as long-term project initiatives
- 3 years of relevant work experience in a creative group with a fast-paced production environment.
- Intermediate skillset in Adobe Creative Suite. (After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
- Intermediate skillset in creating both animated and still frame graphics
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and deliver multiple assignments, with compelling creative solutions
- Willingness to work extended hours due to breaking news events
- Proficiency with Google Earth Studio, and 3D Map camera tracking within After Effects
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Must have a broad knowledge and curiosity about news, and a keen eye for spotting interesting and newsworthy visual content
- Understanding and appreciation of the MS NOW brand and mission Editorial / News experience is preferred
- A portfolio of relevant work is required for consideration
- Capable of quick turnarounds, both animated and still design
