What are we looking for?
The Operational Trainer is responsible for the delivery and development of operational training programs for both virtual instructor led and classroom training. This includes but is not limited to training of call center, claims, and utilization management staff. This role requires strong technical and professional skills, including the ability to facilitate a wide-variety of functional and professional skills training consistent with the principles of adult learning and instructional design theory and to the highest standards of competency-based training.

What are we looking for?

Where you will have an impact
- Facilitates new employee training according to industry best practices ensuring the best possible learning experience for a wide variety of learning styles
- Facilitates in-services as needed for Operations staff
- Conducts needs assessments as necessary to diagnose training gaps and recommend appropriate solutions
- Collaborates with Training team members and subject matter experts to update training materials as operational, technical, and procedural changes occur to ensure that curriculum is always accurate and up to date
- Continuously look for ways to improve existing training curriculum and learner experience by analyzing teaching methods and identifying better methods to promote effective learning and transference of skills to the job
- Manage a diverse and inclusive classroom environment (in person and virtually), upholding the highest standards of professionalism to ensure a positive learning experience for all
- Consistently exercises sound judgment by proactively communicating employee behavioral and learning challenges during training to management, always maintaining a safe and comfortable learning environment
- Provide constructive coaching throughout training and nesting to help learners refine and enhance their technical and professional skills toward established standards
- Advocate on behalf of users/learners to leadership when needed to improve the training experience
- Establish strong working relationships with other trainers, management, and leadership
- Consistently perform all administrative job functions in an organized and timely manner
- Additional duties as assigned
- Bachelors degree preferred, or combination of formal education and professional training certifications considered
- 3 plus years in a dedicated professional training role required
- Proven success as a professional trainer including demonstrated proficiency in adult learning and facilitation of complex job functions
- Previous customer service and/ or claims training experience preferred
- Knowledge of managed care, health care or vision care industry a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Curriculum development a plus
- Software proficiency in MS Office (Word, Power-Point, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook) and the Adobe Suite of Products as well as Virtual training platforms such as Zoom, Ring Central, or Adobe Connect required
