Position Summary

VERSA is seeking an experienced and driven Quality Manager to lead all aspects of product quality, inspection, and quality systems within our manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring that products, processes, and documentation consistently meet established quality standards.

The Quality Manager will partner closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to enforce quality requirements, resolve technical issues, and drive continuous improvement. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring ISO compliance.


Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Lead and manage all inspection activities, including development of new inspection processes and equipment

• Oversee and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure ISO 9001 compliance and audit readiness

• Develop, monitor, and drive improvement of quality KPIs and apply statistical analysis to manufacturing operations

• Manage the non-conformance and corrective action process, ensuring effective root cause analysis and prevention of recurrence

• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve product quality and process efficiency

• Review manufacturing procedures and recommend improvements to enhance quality, performance, and reliability

• Conduct internal audits, system audits, and supplier quality assessments to ensure compliance with specifications and standards

• Manage supplier quality performance, including root cause and corrective actions

• Investigate and resolve customer complaints and quality issues in partnership with Sales and Customer Service

• Prepare and maintain quality documentation and reports, including analysis of trends, failures, and corrective actions

• Identify and prioritize opportunities for process improvement, automation, and cost reduction

• Plan and lead training initiatives related to quality systems and procedures

• Partner with senior leadership to establish quality policies, procedures, and strategic goals

• Lead and develop the Quality team (QC inspectors, technicians, QA personnel):

o Recruiting, hiring, and training

o Assigning and directing work

o Performance management and development

• Foster cross-functional collaboration and act as a catalyst for continuous improvement and change

• Stay current with industry standards, technologies, and best practices


Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment

• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing teams

• Strong knowledge of:

o Quality Management Systems (QMS)

o ISO 9001 standards

o ERP systems

o Mechanical component inspection

o Continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt strongly preferred

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data analysis skills

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data/reporting tools


Abilities Required

• Hands-on experience with precision inspection tools (calipers, CMM, Keyence, etc.)

• Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions

• Ability to interpret technical instructions, drawings, and specifications

• Strong attention to detail with a bias for action and results

• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic manufacturing environment

• Adaptability in situations involving change, ambiguity, and competing priorities

Salary : $105,000 - $135,000
