Engineering Lab – Test Engineer

The position involves extensive lab testing, prototype development, and collaboration across multiple departments to support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Summary of essential job functions:
• Perform project-based testing in the Engineering Lab and prepare clear, detailed lab reports.
• Develop and execute test plans for product qualification and acceptance testing.
• Participate in R&D activities, supporting the development of new products and enhancements to existing products.
• Work closely with Engineers and Designers on lab-based project work and validation efforts.
• Build and assemble prototypes and conduct testing to evaluate performance and reliability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Purchasing, Sales, Quality Control, and Manufacturing.
• Assist the Assembly Department in troubleshooting and resolving technical production issues as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of test results, procedures, and findings.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product performance, quality, and cost.
Qualifications / Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) with 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Fluid Power industry a plus.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Hands-on experience using common laboratory instruments, including but not limited to oscilloscopes, multimeters, flow meters, calipers and precision measurement tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Effective verbal and written skills.
