Position Summary: 

The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) focuses on taking the initiative of helping the QA team create test code to ensure that the product is functioning properly. This role is a key player in a growing team working on new testing technologies to streamline testing processes and communications between product, DevOps, and development by clearly understanding our product and its acceptance criteria, collaborating with different facets and upholding the products’ integrity. 

This position requires strong experience in software development, architecture and test automation, having successfully designed and built test frameworks and automated tests in previous roles. The candidate is expected to have technical abilities demonstrating a breadth and depth of technical knowledge, the ability to break things down, understand why, jump right in and own the solution. This position requires a proven track record of delivering quality projects within very tight deadlines.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Estimate and plan for development of test automation framework
• Architect, design and implement reusable and maintainable test automation frameworks to support system integration testing and accelerate product delivery while improving product quality. 
• Design, develop and execute test automation scripts using C# & Selenium based on the existing automation framework.
• Good programming skills to pick up manual test cases from sprints and convert them to functional automated scripts on a continual basis.
• Find more efficient ways to design, develop, maintain and execute functional automation.
• Create custom x-paths and generate reliable web-element identifiers for Selenium API
• Provide accurate report of test progress to the QA Leadership team.
• Create and maintain detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
• Assist in manual testing whenever needed.
• Proficient with API testing using Postman, Swagger
• Experienced in creating & running complex SQL queries.
• Familiarity with cross platform testing tools such as Browserstack.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, QA teams, BSAs to understand the needs of a product and implement automated tests with high business value
• Provide feedback on functional and technical designs and specifications
• Train new members on automation tool and automation development best practices.
• Communicate impediments and blocked tasks.
• Takes initiative to respond to all team messages, comments, and emails to ensure that development continues to move forward.

• Step outside of the comfort zone to learn new skill sets that pertain to our technology needs.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 3 years of experience as a SDET with automation focus.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience.
• 3 years of programming experience and test automation
• 3 years of software quality assurance experience 
• Experience developing complex scripts, user defined functions
• Strong coding, analytic and design skills
• Proficient in relevant languages and technologies, 
• C#, Selenium, Postman, Swagger etc.
• Experience with at least one RDBMS, preferably Oracle and ability to write SQL statements
• Experience with source/version control systems such as Git.
• Understanding of branching strategies and merging.
• Excellent analytical, Interpersonal and Communication skills, fast learner, hardworking and good team player.
• Self-motivated, ability to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of mortgage specific terminologies is a plus.
• Experience on Unified Functional Testing (UFT) is a plus
